Penny Dreadful Picture Show, Morning After shot

Had fun a couple weeks ago shooting some plates with the Imaginarium crew for the upcoming indie Anthology "The Penny Dreadful Picture Show" The below car will be driving around in 1960's NYC so with some clever 3D tire replacement, killer green screen clean up from Laura J Hill and some epic sign replacement between the 2 of us we should be able to pull off these shots!
If you never notice we have done our job :)

Personal Work Is So Important

For my sanity at least! For the past couple of projects I have had to make some hyper real CG! From spider legs crawling out of a cake, to a massive landscape full of weeds, trees and rocks to the wonderful world of OZ and a closet full of heads, I needed a brake with something COMPLETELY different! These little guys are from my textile design days:
So I decided to create them in 3D! This is the first stage...trying to block in some colors and lay around with composition. Not happy with the hands and feet yet but hey I'm happy working on something NOT realistic. I miss being an artist :)
So here's the progress! I hope you like it and check back soon for more updates!

Imaginarium Logo 2012

Hello world! Sorry it's been a while since my last post but I've been super busy doing some 3D VFX on 3 different horror shorts! They are part of the "Penny Dreadful Picture show" Look for some CG haunted theaters, spider eyeball legs, heads blowing up and a virtual 50's NYC.

In the mean time here's something to hold you over:)
Going back to my roots with some good old Photoshop.
How I've missed thee.

Don't forget to check out my site for all future updates!

I'm All Finished with The Witches of Oz directed by Leigh Scott

What an amazing year it has been! I have learned so much and met some great creative people! We have a new trailer coming soon to apple trailers but enjoy some key art in the meantime!
This whole image is 3D except the actresses (one of them is me;) and the desk to the left of them. I did all the 3D modeling, texturing, animation and lighting with some amazing compositing done by Imaginarium's lead compositor Laura J Hill.

Jack Pumpkin Head and Tik Tok! Can you spot the only real element in this scene? Jack's body is played by one of our 3D guys with some amazing costume design by Regina Amato! I did all of Tik Tok's animation and texturing as well as Jack's texturing. I also did the lighting of the Wizards chamber (played by Christopher Lloyd.) Again, the awesome compositing was done by Laura J Hill.  I love my all girls team!! We are certainly a minority in this male run industry.

Gotta Love Free Exposure!

"I like the way her hair is done, the different shades of color give every curl its own movement. The proportion of her head with the look in her face gives her quite an attitude; no vampire will mess with Sookie Stackhouse. I like the author’s technique and every detail she put, even the bloody red background gives it its own style. (Caro)"

Check it out! I'm on the MICA Website!

Situated on top of the entrance of the infamous Brown Center. From left to right: Pink Solid Works (Silk and Tulle), Blue Twin (Chanel Silk), Empire Snapped, Green Solid Works (Tulle and Silk), Black Twin (Chanel Silk)

Well would you look at that! My '05 senior thesis "Parallel Imitation" collection is being featured on MICA's website! Pretty interesting what they say:

"The department is concerned not only with the production and understanding of fiberwork itself, but with its interaction and connection to other mediums and materials, so you are presented with critical writings concerning fiber and contemporary issues in the world of art."
